Weekend workshop
basics of (digital) photography 1+2
Artistic photography: switch off the automatic settings
Good photos don’t happen by chance – they result from an understanding of, and the conscious use of, light, the camera and composition. In this two-part workshop, you’ll learn the technical basics of (digital) photography. You’ll discover how to use your camera deliberately rather than on automatic – and in doing so, become the creator of personal, striking photographs. And you’ll see that photographic technique is a joy.
The first part of the workshop focuses on the key technical concepts: the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO), focal lengths (lenses) and their effect on the image, sharpness and depth, light and atmosphere. Through practical exercises, you’ll learn how these settings influence the look of your images and how to master them confidently using the camera you bring along.
The second part of the workshop builds on this and shows how you can use the technical aspects specifically to develop your own visual language. Instead of relying on pre-set automatic programmes, you’ll decide for yourself how your photos should look. Step by step, you’ll bring out the best in your photographic vision.
Both parts are offered here together as a weekend workshop in which one builds on the other. However, they can also be booked individually – independently of one another – as intensive one-day workshops.
The seminar group is limited to a maximum of 12 participants. Drinks will be provided at freiraum. A 60-minute lunch break is scheduled, which participants are free to spend as they wish.
Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance.
